21 Things -- homework

About two years ago I started my blog "Library Antics", but it really never left the hanger. Now with the ALSC's 21 Things program, the first assignment was -- Create a Blog. :D so that was the easy part, now I just have to find time to do my homework.

Thing 5 -- Delicious

I have to admit that when I saw the "Delicious" name, the first thing that pop up in my mind was cupcakes.

OK, back to work...
1. Sign up for Delicious.
2. Added my first two bookmarks. (I hope!)
3. Homework.
from Thing 5 section
Some questions to ponder:

* How might you use Delicious in your daily work activities?
I can see this working really well at work because I'm usually going back and forth between my laptop and the reference computers, and I find myself recreating my bookmark folder and not remember which computer I had save what bookmarks.

* How can you use Delicious to collaborate with colleagues?
* How could Delicious help students who use your library?

I can see us using it to create list for student assignments--especially those obscure assignment--books by an African American author about an African American topic. Why would a teacher do this to a students still boggles the mind, but as a librarian we can only shake our heads and help our kids the best way we can. OK the head shaking might be internal, but still.

I can see so much potential, cannot wait to share it with my fellow librarians.

These I will save for a later time, I need to think more of them.
* How can they use it for homework?
* What about parents and teachers?
* What about for recreational purposes?
* How can students use Delicious for group projects or social networking?

  1. I have been using Delicious to tag websites used in programs, handouts etc. from my library. I hope it will make accessing them easier in the future! I also really appreciate the linking through to see when others who tagged the same site have tagged in their accounts. Every once in a while I just go doodle around in there and seem to always stumble on something new and fun!
